My name is Melanie Gutschlag, I'm from Dunedin, NZ. I started Mint & Blush as a hobby when my youngest was 6 months old. My two favourite colours are mint green, and all shades of blush pink - that's how Mint & Blush came about.
I have a 3 year old son, Ollie. My daughter is Willow, she will be 2 years old in June. And, my husband is Isaac. Together we also run Dunedin Electrical Services Ltd, as he's an electrician.
I wanted to have children for a very long time, and my favourite thing is the unconditional love they have. They'll never hold a grudge - they love you no matter what!
I'd love my children to know that everyone is completely different, no people are the same. We all share different views and opinions. We come from different countries, ethnicities, and cultures. But, we all deserve the exact same amount of respect, and love. And we should treat everyone equally.
I love to listen to Sam Smith while getting creative in my studio. I also sit on the couch and drink wine.
I love Marion Keyes - easy readying, and great love stories.
I'm very passionate about glitter, I absolutely love creating things sparkly. I'm also very passionate about helping the charities that Mint & Blush sponsors, and love to be contributing to the lives of others. I love to be a part of community events, and meeting people at markets and local fairs and expos. I also enjoy creating care packs a few times a year for our local NICU. I run a Facebook page called Hello Little One that helps with donations.
Honesty, loyalty, paying it forward, giving more than you take, and my children.
Communication, integrity, and honesty are definitely core values of Mint & Blush.
I really value my customers, I have many repeat customers - and that's awesome! Communication, integrity, and honesty are definitely core values of Mint & Blush. I love collaborating with other businesses, sharing the love, and contributing to the community.
I chose to donate to One Mother To Another because I know first hand what it's like to be in a hospital unit with your baby. You're tired, you're hungry, you need to moisturize your hands every 5 minutes! And, you're in definite need of a pick-me-up.
I have very high risk pregnancies, and we finally got our precious baby Ollie at 28 weeks gestation. We had a two month stay in Dunedin NICU. It was hard. We had family around, but no one will know what it's like to have a premature baby, unless they've had one themselves.
One Mother To Another brightens the day of a mother in a situation that they have no choice but to be in. Sometimes when you're in the hospital, you have arrived with absolutely nothing, you've had no warning. You need a coffee, a snack, and something to let you know that someones there, and cares. When you receive something from someone that has been in that position themselves, you really feel the love.
You can find Mint & Blush on Facebook and Instagram. You can also browse online at mintblush.etsy.com. And, the best part - you can message me to chat about making something special just for you.
